We have read recent reports on TripAdvisor suggesting that holiday makers staying at the Gran Bahia Principe La Romana in Dominican Republic during the month of December 2011, have suffered holiday illness which is thought to have been caused by food poisoning. 
This hotel is promoted by First Choice Holidays amongst others. The Gran Bahia Principe La Romana is an all inclusive 4 star hotel and is situated in extensive grounds on Montero Beach, between San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana and 50 minutes from Santo Domingo.
Holidaymakers have complained of lack of food hygiene as well as food being re-used and not cooked thoroughly which is thought to have caused the symptoms of food poisoning.
