We are reading reports on TripAdvisor suggesting that holiday makers staying at the Bahia Principe San Juan in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, during the month of June 2011have suffered sickness on holiday consisting of severe cases of diarrhoea and stomach cramps. 
This hotel is promoted by Thomas Cook Holidays and First Choice amongst others. The Bahia Principe San Juan is a 4 star resort, 24 hour all inclusive resort and is situated ten kilometres from Rio San Juan town centre and 15 minutes from Playa Grande golf course.
Holidaymakers have complained of contracting severe food poisoning within three days of staying at this hotel and being hospitalised whilst on holiday. Reviews state that one guest spent two nights in hospital on an intravenous drip with a prognosis of gastroenteritis.
