More holiday sickness reports at Clubhotel Riu Bachata Dominican Republic
More holiday sickness reports have been made on TripAdvisor after illness at the Clubhotel Riu Bachata in the Dominican Republic during October 2011.
Severe illness caused by giardiasis, dysentery and shigella follow previous reports of sickness at the same hotel during May 2011.
The Clubhotel Riu Bachata is an all inclusive 4-star hotel with a beach-front location. Holidaymakers have complained of poor food hygiene plus food being left out uncovered and exposed to fly and bird contamination. A general lack of hygiene throughout the hotel is thought to be linked to outbreaks of giardiasis, dysentery and shigella.
