"Severe illness can result from ingesting contaminated food at holiday hotels in Egypt"

Baron Resort Food Poisoning Sharm El Sheikh Egypt

Reports have been received of food poisoning and sickness  by holidaymakers staying at the Baron Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Baron Resort
One couple said they had endured a "week from hell", and were ill from the second day of their holiday at the Baron Resort. The sickness lasted a week and completely ruined their trip. Another holidaymaker staying at the Baron Resort, complained: "The food was appalling, aside from hygiene issues, it was bland, tasteless and luke warm, and often stale.

Another guest endured a nightmare stay at the Baron Resort after contracting an intestinal infection. He complained: "After two days of arriving at the hotel, I came down with the worse case of intestinal infection I have ever had, and I had to cancel Scuba Diving Arrangments, as I was in discomfort 24 hours a day. The infection must have come from within the hotel as I hadn´t left it at all since I arrived. I was still ill four days later so went to a local pharmacy, where the chemist told me 90% of people  he deals with contract infections and food poisoning from the Baron Resort, Sharm El Sheikh. I lost a week of my holiday due to gastroenteritis contracted in the hotel."

Other reports from holidaymakers claim that the pool dining area was infested with pigeons at the Baron Resort, and bird faeces were all over the place, including on dining tables. Plates were said to be greasy and unwashed between services, and one holidaymaker even complained that the chef at the buffet was picking his nose, while wearing latex gloves, then continuing to serve food.

Several guests had similar infections after staying at the Baron Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, and it was unclear whether they had contracted a virus from the swimming pools, from the food or from the unhygienic food areas which were covered in bird faeces.
