Holiday sickness at Oriental Resort Sharm El Sheikh Egypt


Complaints have been received from holidaymakers who have recently stayed at the Oriental Resort, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

One holidaymaker complained: "My partner and I both became ill on day 3 of our holiday, and we are still not fully recovered. Half the guests had sickness and diarrhoea at the Oriental Resort, and the hotel refused to acknowledge there was a problem."

Other holidaymakers at the Oriental Resort, Sharm El Sheikh complained that the same tongs were used for raw and cooked chicken and that flies swarmed all over the food. Hygiene was also said to be particularly bad in the toilets, which were not cleaned regularly. One couple complained to a holiday rep who refused to move them to another room, after a strong smell of sewage was reported.

One family group of holidaymakers, including three children, staying at the Oriental Resort, complained of violent sickness and diarrhoea, and one member of the party had to spend two days of her holiday in bed. According to one family, the food in the all-inclusive Oriental Resort was "appalling", which led to sickness and diarrhoea among most of the guests.
