Holiday sickness at the Hauza Beach Resort Sharm El Sheikh Egypt

Complaints have been made about the hygiene and standard of food at the Hauza Beach Resort, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

One holidaymaker complained: "We made the mistake of paying for a bbq on the beach, and while  waiting for the food there were giant ants crawling everywhere. In the early hours of the following day I had very bad stomach cramps and diarrhoea which lasted most of the week. My husband became ill the next day and was still ill when we returned to the UK. He had contracted Aeromonas, which attacks the immune system and can kill. He lost a stone in weight in just four days."

Other holidaymakers complained of ants and maggots in their room when they arrived, and the food being inedible. Two couples who stayed at the Hauza Beach recently stated: "I have just returned from the Hauza Beach, having spent two weeks there with my fiancée and another couple. Although first impressions were encouraging, the buffet is terrible. The food is lukewarm, and within an hour of eating it, all four of us were terribly ill. We had excruciating stomach cramps, followed by hours sitting on the toilet.

There are two restaurants on site, a pool bar, a beach bar, ice cream bar and a hatch to order large pizzas. All of which had to be paid for.
The muck served in the buffet and the pool bar wasn't worth the risk eating forcing you to spend money you would spend on trips, on food outside the hotel."
