"Salmonella food poisoning is one of the most common forms of hotel illness in Tunisia"

Holiday illness reports at Iberostar Chich Khan Hotel in Tunisia

Holiday illness reports have been made from holidaymakers returning from the Iberostar Chich Khan Hotel in Tunisia.
Chich Khan Hotel in Tunisia
Guests have taken legal action against tour operator, Thomas Cook, after their holiday in Tunisia was ruined by holiday illness. Symptoms have included diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps and one guest was proved to be suffering with Salmonella food poisoning when he returned to the UK.

Advertised as a family resort, the Iberostar Chich Khan Hotel in Tunisia is reported to have poor standards of health and hygiene and newly cooked food was regularly seen to be added to cold leftovers. Cats and birds were also spotted in the restaurant and food was left uncovered for hours on end.

Other guests complained that the food was very repetitive, poorly labelled and never hot, only lukewarm. The pool bar floor was said to be greasy and food was not covered, which encouraged flies.
