One couple complained that just 24 hours into their holiday they both became ill with stomach cramps, sickness and diarrhoea after eating at the Hotel Etap Altinel, Torba, Turkey, which resulted in 24 hours on a drip at the local hospital.

The Etap Altinel is an all-inclusive resort in a rural location, and the local doctor confirmed that illness was due to food poisoning from the hotel. Holidaymakers made complaints to the hotel manager, who refused to take any responsibility for illness at the hotel, even suggesting guests had drank too much alcohol.

One couple were still waiting for results to come back from the doctors, to find out what caused diarrhoea and sickness. Water bottles were said to be filled from local source tap water, along with the water on the tables, and many guests complained of food poisoning and gastroenteritis.
