We were instructed by Mr Stewart of Stevenage in Hertfordshire after he fell ill whilst staying at the Hotel Tropicana Sea Beach Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in September 2010.

Mr Stewart began to feel ill with symptoms of severe stomach cramps and diarrhoea a few days into the holiday and serious symptoms developed which were still continuing on his return to the UK. Mr Stewart sought medical treatment in the UK and was diagnosed as having contracted a salmonella infection.

We contacted the tour operator and, after entering into negotiations with Thomson, they agreed to pay Mr Stewart £4,000 as compensation for his pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of his holiday and days lost as a result of the salmonella infection.
